BEAUMONT BOWLING ASSOCIATION

BYLAWS

Section 1:

This organization is formed for the purpose of uniting all members of qualified bowling teams, leagues and affiliate individuals in the city of Beaumont, Texas and bowling in certified establishments within the corporate limits.

LIFE MEMBERS

Section 2:

Life membership in the association shall be granted by the council of delegates under the following conditions:

A. Any individual with 10 years service as Board Member and\or 30 years a member of the Beaumont Bowling Association.

B. Two-thirds approval of the council of delegates.

C. Past Presidents will not be entitled to vote after absence from two (2) meetings.

Any individual granted life membership in the association will be entitled to vote at meetings of the Board of Directors and Council of Delegates. (Note: When life members are granted voting rights, they are members of the Board and must be counted toward a quorum.)

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The association Board of Directors shall consist of a President, two (2) Vice-Presidents, an Executive Director, and twelve (12) Directors.

ELECTION

Section 4:

The election of Officers and Directors shall be held at the annual meeting and elections shall be to specific offices with the exception of the Executive Director who shall be appointed by the Board of Directors.

Each Officer's term of office shall be for two (2) years, except that of the Executive Director which shall be for five years.

The officers and other members of the Board of Directors shall begin their term of office on August 1st of each year.

To be elected President of this Association, one has to serve one full term (2 years) as a board member. If no two year board member is available then the President may be a one year board member.

A. An Assistant Executive Director may be appointed by the Board of Directors when deemed necessary.

B. The immediate Past President shall become an ex-officio member of the voting power for a period of two years.

Committee

Section 5:

The President shall appoint the following committees:

Audit-Budget, Tournament, Nominating, Publicity, Legislative, and Lane Inspection.

ABC Delegates

Section 6:

The delegates to the ABC Convention shall be elected by the Board of Directors.

AVERAGE RECORD

Section 8:

This association shall publish an annual average book (yearbook) with names listed alphabetically.

The yearbook shall be maintained for at least three years and must provide as a minimum the name of each bowler who has bowled at least 21 games in one or more leagues, the name of all leagues, the number of games bowled in each league and the average in each league.

A. Winter leagues whose schedules end prior to June 1st and Secretary's final average sheets.

B. Winter leagues whose schedules begin before March 15th and end June 1st or after and Secretary's average sheet as of June 1st.

Summer leagues which have not bowled 10 weeks of their schedule as of the date set by the association for submitting averages shall submit averages at the end of the league's season which shall be maintained by the association Executive Director for use in average verification.

ANNUAL MEETING

Section 9:

The annual association meeting shall be held in April.

SALARY AND EXPENSE

Section 10:

The salary of the Executive Director shall be as directed by the Board of Directors.

LEAGUE DELEGATES

Section 11:

Delegate representation for the Beaumont Bowling Association will be according to Article 11, Item K-3, 751 or more members - There shall be one delegate from each league.

QUORUM: 25% of the leagues by in no case shall more than 30 league delegates be required.

If an authorized delegate is unable to attend meetings of the Council of Delegates, the original delegate will appoint an alternate from the same league, who upon presentation of written authorization, from the original delegate, may participate and vote.

MEMBERSHIP DUES

Section 12:

This Association shall operate under the self processing membership plan with ABC dues $8.00, Association dues of $4.00, with combined dues being $12.00.

SUMMER LEAGUES

Section 13:

A regular seasons individual membership card (issued for the season August 1 to July 31) is valid in summer leagues.

A non-ABC member shall pay ABC and local association dues that are known to be, or to become, effective for the next season, and upon payment of such dues shall become a member for the balance of the current season and the next season.

The association will collect its proportion of dues from members of other associations who are members of leagues bowling their entire schedule on lanes certified by and within its jurisdiction.

The by-laws of a local association must be submitted as per article XII of the Local Association Constitution and must be consistent with the provisions stated in Chapter XIV.
