"You must get ALL the guns Billy, not just the ugly ones."

SARAH BRADY, Chairman of Handgun Control Inc., Says:

"Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed."

Bill Clinton has stated how he feels about our freedoms. He considers the U.S. Constitution a radical document, giving too much freedom to its people. Here are his exact words:

"When we got organized as a country and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving radical amount of individual freedom to Americans, it was assumed that the Ameri- cans who had that freedom would use it responsibly -- [However, now] there's a lot of irresponsibility.

"And so a lot of people say there's too much freedom.  When personal freedom's being abused, you have to move to limit it."

The following was received from another ham radio operator. It is given as was received. There are obvious punctutation errors in it (which lends a certain amount of disclaim to the authenticity to it; however, it may just be typographical errors). Neverthless, where there's smoke....

The following letter from Sarah Brady of Handgun Control Incorporated was not dated. However, it was confirmed with their office on April 2, 1998.

Dear Handgun Control Member,

I have marked this letter to you "confidential" because I am requesting that you avoid discussing the contents publicly for the next several weeks.

This is because we are about to initiate action that, if successful, will weaken the stranglehold that the gun industry, the NRA, and other gun fanatics have over local and national gun laws.

And I am urgently requesting you to make an extraordinary gift to help strengthen our cause.

Please let me quickly explain our plans -- and then you will understand why both your generosity and secrecy are required.

In brief, we believe there is a strong parallel between the gun industry and the tobacco companies! As you know, citizens at the local and state level rose up in anger and demanded clean .. air in restaurants and offices when Congress failed to take action.

Here at Handgun Control Inc., it is our regrettable conclusion that this current Congress is not going to take the initiative on gun safety for America. Legislation is bogged down. The NRA and other gun industry lobbying groups have multi-million dollar war chests set aside for this election year. Consequently, it will be extremely difficult to pass any significant legislation this year.

And so, even though we will not let up on our efforts in congress, our focus is going to make a dramatic shift.

And we want to keep this shift as quiet as possible while we develop our plan. In a few weeks, I will be announcing to the nation:

Instant Gun Registration

"What most Americans don't know is that once the instant background check goes into effect in 1998 the purpose of Brady could be used to set the stage for national confiscation.

"Instant check could eventually keep guns out of the hands of everyone by registering everyone who purchases a handgun, rifle and shotgun and who obtained concealed weapons permits in a computerized data base.

Guns Confiscation in California

"California's current travail illustrates the way governments use gun registration to violate the Constitution and break faith with the people.

'''Ugly' guns that were registered in the past are now being con- fiscated because one state official decided to reclassify as illegal, guns that had been 'permitted' to be legal.

"California is only the most recent example of the bad faith of governments that have the names and addresses of gun owners in their possession.  In New York City back in the 1960s, New York City officials made some promises.

"They wanted to register long guns over the vocal opposition of the city's gun owners.  The city fathers promised they would never use such lists to take away firearms from the citizenry.  But in 1991, the city banned (and soon began confiscating) many of those very guns.

"The Daily News reported in 1992 the 'Police raided the home of a Staten Island man who refused to comply with the city's tough ban on assult weapons, and seized an arsenal of firearms... Spot checks are planned [for other homes].'

"Is there something wrong with this picture?  In a country where 'We, the people' are sovereign, how do we end up having the servants tell the masters when they can have permission to exercise their rights?"
