Solar Storms

"One of the most mysterious of all nature's rhythms --- the 11-year rise and fall of solar activity --- is rising toward a violent climax, and scientists say society has never been more vulnerable," according to The Houston Chronicle; Saturday, March 20, 1999; also see www.sec.noaaa.gov or www.spaceweather.com for solar and geomagnetic forecast.

Scientists also say that "since the last 'solar maximum' in 1989, the networks of high-technology communications and satellites have expanded like condos on the beach --- smack in the path of the coming solar 'storms.'"

Vulnerable will be astronauts on space stations; the power grid (the electric utility industry) across America that acts like a giant attraction for the incoming storms---they could fry the "cross-country transmission lines"; and could even bring down, a possibility, the powder grid.  The main effects of the solar storm will be at its highest in July, 1999, and reach its zenith by the early part of 2000 and end in January 2001.

WebMaster's Note:
  1. The electromagnetic pulse (solar flares) coming from the sun in the year 2000, that began in July 1999, has the ability to do damage to the power-grid, which acts like a giant antenna to attract and conduct this solar energy.  Any of and all of this can disrupt satellite communications and electrical transmissions.

  2. Science News, Vol. 155, March 13, 1999, p. 164 writes about the other "Y2K" problem.  Sometime next year, the sun is expected to reach the peak of its 11-year activity cycle. ... it will hurl more magnetized clouds of electrically charged gas into space.

"Some of these solar storms, known as coronal mass ejections [CME], may wreak havoc if they plow into the magnetic cocoon surrounding Earth, harming satellites and knocking out power grids (SN: 3/6/99, p.150)."

Science News also reports in the same issue (SN: 3/6/99, p.150) that, "When they hit, these storms can damage satellites, hinder radio communications and set up currents in power lines, telephone cables, and pipelines.  Engineers are developing ways to lessen solar storm damage."

  3. And for those of you who are in the stock market, mutual funds, etc., The Reaper, Vol. 24., No. 13 & 14, December 27, 1999, warns:
... the peak of the sunspot cycle and likely record solar storms, which wreak havoc among electronic, computer, communication and utility industries, beginning in early first quarter Y2K, could negatively affect these high flying communication and computer stocks, which are electromagnetically, solar flare and solar storm sensitive.  [For Subscription: 1-800-528-0559; $195/yr.]

In the January 5, 2000 issue, Vol. 24, No. 15 & 16, The Reaper reiterates as follows:

There is another little known factor that is important to discuss.  Going back to the late 1700s, there is better than an 80% correlation of U.S. economic activity and inflation corresponding to apexes and troughs in sunspot activity.

For example, when gold and commodity inflation peaked in 1980, it was at a peak of the sunspot cycle. We are at the peak of the sunspot cycle again, and economic activity is peaking commensurate with inflation in paper assets (stocks).

Particularly troublesome is that these Internet, high-tech and communicationss stocks could be scrambled by what is predicted to be one of the most severe times of solar storms and solar flares in recorded history, beginning in January/February 2000.

    R. E. McMaster, Jr., Editor of The Reaper, in the same issue, further writes:

Speaking of natural influences, we are also in the time frame when an increasing number of earthquakes could occur due to high tidal forces, the January 21, 2000 total lunar eclipse, and the May 5, 2000 planetary alignment, when all the planets are in a straight line.

Is it coincidental that the millennium is coinciding with the reappearance of the Star of David?  A necklace-like pearl string of planets aligns on May 5,2000, celebrating the beginning of the Jewish calendar 5760 years ago, the beginning of the Indian Kali Yuga era 5102 years ago, and at the start of the Chinese Zhuanxu time calculation of 3953 years ago.

May 5 will give us the darkest night because all the heavenly bodies of the solar system visible with the naked eye will have dissappeared in the night's sky.  Ironically, between the total solar eclipse of August 11, 1999 and May 5, 2000 is exactly 266 days, the time of the human pregnancy period, which coincides with the period of visibility of the planet Venus.

God has certainly made his presence evident in his handy work in the stars.  ....Yes, this will be an interesting year.

The Economic Outlook, January 2000 issue, Vol. 9. No.1 (For subscription: 800-323-3523; $129/yr.) writes about the business cycles that affect the stock market.  He says thus:
There are a conjunction of other cycles that indicate a near-term crash as well.  The Kondratief Wave based on an average 54-65 year cycle [see "Cycle" at Menu], shows we are close to the final trough which bottoms between now and 2004. Based on the Elliott Wave Theory, the Grand Super Cycle of stocks (and society) appears to be close to an unprecedented correction.

Here's the interesting thing about this.  He further writes:

It is also interesting to note that a sharp recession and a rise in human excitability often occurs at the peak of the 11-year solar sun-spot cycle, which is due in early 2000.

USA TODAY, Wednesday, November 10, 1999 writes:

  1. Electrically charged gasses explode on the sun's surface, hurling superheated gasses into space.
  2. If the explosions are pointed toward Earth, the electrically charged gases can reach the planet in three days.
  3. Earth's magnetic field deflects most of the gases.  But some can slip through, creating electrical charges.  Those charges can disrupt electronics on satellites, making beepers and cell phones inoperative.
  4. On the surface of the planet, electrical charges can cause a surge in power lines that could lead to blackouts.  People, plants and animals are not directly affected by the electrical charges.

Science News writes in its March 6, 1999 issue, Vol. 155, the following:
"On Aug. 4, 1972, a surge of electricity raced down a telephone cable in the midwestern United States, temporarily snarling long-distance phone service."
It took nearly 30 years for scientists to discover the cause.  Canadian scientists say it is the "dark side of the sun's influence on Earth," that created the phone crisis then.  It was a phone-cable problem generated by the solar blast at that time.

In 1989 [see Science News, March 6, 1999] "the electromagnetic storms (solar) caused power outages in Quebec and electrical malfunctions along the U.S. East Coast ... the storms caused a sudden intensification of electric currents...."

At that time in March, 1989, when the Hydro-Quebec power grid in Canada was shut down due to the atmospheric surge of electromagnetic energy, 6 million people were left without electrical power for days.

Last May, 1998, Galaxy 4 satellite was knocked out and it is generally felt that this was due to the solar flares (storms) at that time.  The disruption lasted for three days, and, according to a March 18, 1999, Reuters article:

"forty million pagers stopped working, television and data broadcasts were disrupted, and many credit card transactions were blocked."

The article by Reuters quotes Michael Lewis, Senior British Y2K planner and deputy chief executive of Britian's Association of Payments and Clearing Systems.  He says:

"Solar flares could do damage far beyond anything the Year 2000 [Y2K] could do, and it could hit us on that weekend."

The height of the coming activity, begining in July, 1999, is expected to be in the late 1999 and early 2000.  This is the peak of an 11-year solar flare cycle.

This solar storm has the potential to knock out computers, cell phones, shut down the electric power grid, satellites (first hit by the incoming solar blast), as well as businesses, government offices, schools and homes.  Other devices dependent upon electrical and electromagnetic energy could be adversely affected, due to the massive solar storms pummeling our planet---and this also includes the banking system with its electronic transfer of funds, world-wide.  The solar storms will be hitting at their peak, beginning in July, lasting through 2000, waning in 2001.

David J. Meyer, writing in the April, 1999 issue of the Last Trumpet Newsletter, says the following concerning this Electromagnetic Pulse:

"Gigantic 'S' shaped flames in massive numbers have been detected on the sun, which are just beginning to hurl large amounts of electrically charged gas at the earth.  The 'S' shapes are called 'sigmoids,' which are known to preclude mass ejections of CMEs or coronal mass ejections.  These have the potential to knock out power grids and scramble mass communications.  The year 2000 is the strongest in an 11-year cycle of such sigmoids."

The Reaper, Vol. 23, No. 34 & 35; August 12, 1999; p. 2 (Subscription: 1-800-528-0559; $195/yr.), has this to say:
And Y2K will hit in fourth quarter 1999 and first quarter 2000, commensurate with the peak of the solar/sunspot cycle which will cause havoc for utilities and communications of all types.

The sunspot disruptions of our electromagnetic computer environment and electrical, communication and other utility networks will probably be interpreted as accelerated Y2K problems.

[and note this]

Plus, the fact that the earth is going through a magnetic field shift already, with some runways in Minnesota and North Dakota already being shifted 10 - 11 degrees, could cause problems for our very delicate and sensitive magnetic computer systems.

And if the above isn't enough to cause concern, Gordon-Michael Scallion & Cynthia Keyes' Earth Changes report 89, p. 12; www.earthchanges.com; 603-363-4164, prints this letter in their January/February 2000 issue:
Dear GMS and Staff,

I was startled, surprised, and then grateful when I found an enclosure with my current electric bill from Idaho Power, our main electrical utility that serves the Boise/greater Southeast Idaho area. The title in the Consumer Connection newsletter was "2000 To See Solar Storms Increase."  Most of it went right along GMS' predictions.  They said in part,

"A series of solar storms will hit their peak during the first part of next year ... can cause power outrages and, in some cases, even severely damage components of the electrical grid system."

Well, I was pleased to see that at least they were WARNING PEOPLE. ---Nancy in Boise

A US Government Consideration... a sobering thought:

"In the 1970s, government statisticians calculated that if all electricity were cut off, 30% of the population would be dead within a month.  Within a year, 80% would be dead.  And that was back in the 1970s ... now it's worse!" Source: The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor, p. 24 August, 1999.

Right now, there are 277.7 million people in America.  Using the government statisticians' figures---and remember, things are much worse now, at 30% for one month, 83.31 million US citizens would be dead, with 194.39 million persons left alive.  This would cause the infrastructure to quake and quiver. However, if, according to the statisticians, the electricity went down for one year, then we could expect an 80% loss of life.  This would be 222.16 million dead with 55.54 million left alive!

Do you know what this would mean?  The infrastructure of America would be so damaged we would have trouble finding ourselves!  The work force would be so decimated, it would be a dark ages for some time to come, in that decades would pass before the US would be back to its former strength at the time the "lights" went out.

When Pope John Paul II, in November 1980, visited Fulda, Germany, he was questioned about the Third Fątima secret.  His alleged response to a small gathering of German Catholics was reported in Stimmes des Glaubens, a German magazine.  The Pope said:
Because of the seriousness of its content, in order not to encourage the world-wide power of Communism to carry out certain coups, my predecessors and the Chair of Peter have diplomatically preferred to withhold this publication.

On the other hand, it should be sufficient for all Christians to know this much: if there is a message in which it is said that the oceans will flood entire sections of the earth; that, from one moment to another, millions will perish, there is no longer any point in really wanting to publish this secret message.  Source: The Two-Fold Chastisement: Visions of The Coming Earth Changes.

Why Many No Longer Speak to The Media:

On January 3, 2000, one of the WebMasters was asked by a local television station to comment on a statement he had made in May, 1999: "When this (the Chastisement) is over, millions will lie dead across the continents."

If you have been reading this web site, then you know that the Chastisement refers to many things collectively: the coming earth changes, a total collapse of the world-wide financial system---including the stock market, Y2K, a major oil crisis and its ramifications, chemical/biological warfare; also, suitcase nuclear bombs, as well as the solar blasts this document refers to, and a third world war, among other things seemingly coming together around the same time.  It has to be an act of God--not man.

A powdered-faced, wet behind the ears, pretty-boy reporter came out, obviously expecting me to be embarressed and humilitated because Y2K was not a cataclysmic event, as many predicted...it could have been.  However, it is an erosion event that is now taking place.

He was shocked and not a little upset that I held to my views; I tried to explain, as I did in May, 1999, that the Chastisement is from God and Y2K is just one of the possible aspects.  Yet, when he aired the program, he cut out all mention of God and labelled only what I said with Y2K and not the Chastisement.

This is what I expected when I went on so I was not disturbed. He wanted me to be wrong about Y2K and that was the way the story was presented, because it had already been prewritten in his mind.

But what stunned many readers of this Web Site was his contention, given in a voice-over, that I had said "a solar blast was coming that would destroy the earth!"

You who have been reading this Web Site and/or my books recognize this statement as a flagrant falsehood, no doubt designed to dramatize the story.

Upon complaining to the news director at that TV station, I discovered that he too had no idea of Solar Storms or their possible effects on the power (electrical) grid or the satellites his station depends on.  Furthermore, it appears when I said on television that the "solar blast has the potential to fry the power grid," pretty boy took the grid to mean the earth!

Amazingly, the news director of that station didn't know about the solar storms and said, "We'd better learn about them so we can announce them."   He also claimed he would "view the tapes and take care of the matter."  To this date, nothing has been done.

Now Get This:

A salesperson of another television station happened into my business Monday, January 10, 2000, and wanted to pursue a sales contract for advertisements:  No Way.  Upon her inquiring why, I related what you have just been reading.  The salesperson received a copy of this document, "Solar Storms," read it, and took it back to her station.  She commented that when news gathering crews report inaccuarately, or don't understand what they are reporting on, or insult the public; it makes their job of selling much harder.

This intelligent lady reported back to me a day later that she had given this document, "Solar Storms" to her station's meteorologist.  He quickly read it and said it's all true, and that the power grid is the interconnections between the Satellites, and threw it back at her!  WoW Wee...now you can see ....

What Others Are Saying About The Media:

You can now see why other writers have been classed as "doomsayers," etc. This is what they have to say about the media situation.

Jim Lord, in his Journal of Personal Freedom, Vol. 1 No. 8, December 1999, (www.JimLord.to), 602-252-4477; Subscription: $129/yr, writes on page 8:

The Press

These clowns will blow the post Y2K coverage every bit as badly as they have blown the build up for the past four years.

The one good thing about a Y2K catastrophe would be seeing these scum [italics added] discredited for missing the biggest story of the century.

The McAlvany Intelligence Advisor by Donald S. McAlvany, 800-528-0559 for Subscription: $115/yr., writes the following as quoted from the Harry Schultz newsletter:

"The truth is: we get, I'd guess, only about 30% of the total picture --- and even that 30% is given to us through filters --- government filters, corporate filters, vested interested filters, media and other filters.  The other 70% you'll never know.  Not from the mass media.  From TV least of all...

"Without a doubt, the worst [WebMaster's emphasis] source of news and information is TV.  TV news is generally counterinformative.  It precludes, dissuades you from getting the full story from the print format.  It convinces you that you've got the news, instead of sound bites.  TV news is voluntary brainwashing ... Without truth, we are sheep."

Anthony Deden, principal investment officer for Sage Capital Zurich AG, in a December 1, 1999, speech, entitled "The Trouble with Prosperity," given in Houston, Texas, at the Houstonian Hotel and Resort, called the media "intellectually ignorant" and referred to television personalities as "the airheads on television."---Sources: The Reaper, Vol. 24, No. 15 & 16, January 5, 2000, and www.intelligentwealth.com/articles/ad_02.htm for a copy of his talk.
