"OFFICER KILLED..." "VETERAN POLICE OFFICER SLAIN" "COP DIES..."

How many times have you read this in the newspaper or seen in on television?

WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT?

Every day, somewhere in the world, a small group of men and women from some agency that you probably never heard of, gather together and take a long, tear filed journey to the home or workplace of a Law Enforcement Officer's family for the sole purpose of informing them that their loved one is never coming home again. I've taken that ride....more than once....and I don't intend to do it again!

The senseless and brutal killing of Law Enforcement Officers must stop....and we can stop it! Today, you have an opportunity to say "STOP". There are millions like myself who have experienced these types of losses, some directly, others indirectly, and we all asked ourselves "What do I do now?"

Through the miracle of the Internet, and the generosity of kind people like those at Achievement International who have helped make this message possible, citizens like you and I are now able to unite in our efforts to demand that society take a long hard look at these brave men and women who are dying in the streets of the world.

Project "Security Blanket" was developed for this reason. Hopefully, before the year is over, Project Security Blanket, a public awareness campaign intended to arm the public with statistics and information about the Law Enforcement Community's efforts to achieve peace in the streets, will be sucessfully launched. The blanket itself is just that: a huge blanket containing the largest collection of Law Enforcement patches the world has ever known. Permanently, and professionally affixed, the patches represent the agency to which the patch corrresponds, and indicates their moral support in these efforts. A "touring PR tool" unlike anything ever witnessed in the history of Law Enforcement, and designed to be as big (if not bigger), and certainly as visable, as the highly successful AIDS quilt, this memorial blanket will grow with each and every stop along it's appointed display route, as agencies within that region add their own patches in support.

THIS IS NOT A HOBBY COLLECTION, NOR IS IT A TRADING OPPORTUNITY! NO DONATED PATCHES WILL BE SOLD OR TRADED DURING THIS PROJECT FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER. ALL LEGITIMATE LAW ENFORCEMENT PATCHES "WILL" BE PERMANENTLY AFFIXED TO THE MEMORIAL BLANKET! ALL DONATED PATCHES BECOME THE PROPERTY OF PROJECT SECURITY BLANKET AND WILL BE UNDER GUARD WHILE IN TRANSIT AND WHILE ON DISPLAY!

Send your patch today. Let us help you to represent your department in our memorial. Send no money please. This is a privately funded project. All we ask is that you take a few minutes to send an official patch so that it may take it's place among the thousands which will tour upon the memorial blanket. Please don't just disregard this project because you think that "someone else" will send one, or "They probably already have enough". This is not the case at all! We need at least 2000 patches to start the tour, and are nowhere near that now! All patches, foreign or domestic are needed, and all departments, whether in the US or abroad are asked to please participate in this project. We cannot do this alone. How many more times must we take that horrible ride and tell someone else that they are the next victim?

Remember, this is your opportunity to speak out!
IF YOU WON'T...WHO WILL? PLEASE GET INVOLVED...AFTER ALL, IT'S YOUR LIFE!

Thanks!
