This map at the right shows the floodplain areas in Jasper  County.  These areas are shown in blue and are designated as being in the 100 year floodplain.

Before beginning construction of any type in these areas requires a permit to be issued by the Floodplain Administrator of Jasper County.

Residents of Jasper County are eligible to obtain flood insurance from the National Flood Insurance Program.

Jasper County's Flood Prevention Court Order specifies the regulations for floodplain management, construction codes and designates the Emergency Management Coordinator as the Floodplain Administrator.

Mitigation projects are accomplished by each County Commissioner to protect the lives and property in his/her jurisdiction.

Proper floodplain management requires the help of every citizen.
