Pcynogenol, Grape Seed Extract,
Ginkgo Biloba Extract

Proanthocyanidin is a powerful antioxidant found in nature.  It is the active substance found in pycnogenol (pine bark extract), grape seed extract, and ginkgo biloba extract.

We recommend grape-seed extract over pine bark extract because it contains more proanthocyanidins (95%) than pycnogenol (85%).   However, for best results, we suggests a combination of 100 mg, three times per day of both antioxidants.

The importance of proanthocyanidins is that they provide powerful free radical protection for certain areas of the body.   Two such ares are the brain cells and joints with arthritis .

Vitamin E, C, and Beta-carotene are limited in the ares of the body they can reach in sufficient force to "detox" of free radicals, whereas the proanthocyanidins--a free radical sink--can reach the more difficult areas of the body to quench more free radicals than others.

There are reports saying that cancer and arthritis patients are having good results when using these substances in high doses.  We are waiting for more clinical proof before making a definitive statement; but, since these substances are natural antioxidants, we do know they are good for the biochemistry.

We also know that the flavones (the powerful antioxidants in grape skins) are excellent for reducing the incidence of cancer of the breast. The extract has just made its appear- ance on the market in capsule form.  Your health food store should now have them in.  Ask for Resveratrol .
